June Bug

I recently shot some images of a beautiful little 2-year-old named June. She happens to be part of the Mother Moon Baby Boutique family in Newton, NJ. Leigh carries wonderful organic and eco-friendly items in her cute shop. She also happens to have an art degree and she does beautiful artwork as well (which you can see in her store). Anyway, June happens have a birthday two days away from my own son's....in June (we called him "June Bug" at the very beginning of my pregnancy).

We spent a beautiful morning in June's yard and she graciously modeled some beautiful items made by Jean of Bebe A'La Mode - although the headbands were a tough sell!!

I love the look on her face here!!

Glass Half Empty? Or Half Full?

My clients were traveling from an hour away and the weather forecast showed a 50% chance of rain.........so our fingers were crossed. After some back and forth that morning, my clients decided to chance it, rounded up their three kids and made the trek out to the country. I am a glass is half full kind of person, but I couldn't imagine coming all the way out to meet me on a weekend morning with three kids, only to be turned around by the rain......so I left it up to the client to decide. They apparently are also glass is half full folks.

It turns out the weatherman was wrong (imagine that!) and we had a beautiful session at Kittatinny Valley State Park up here in Andover, NJ (Sussex County). You can really see each child's individual nature here.

A 5K, Two Girls, and a Beautiful Location

I recently had the pleasure of photographing two incredibly well-behaved little girls. The baby was so calm and patient and we got a second wind out of her big sister, too! We had the pleasure of singing Little Mermaid songs (although passersby did not have the pleasure of listening) and I was treated to an impromptu dance recital with this little one.

It was well worth the hour drive to Ringwood State Park, and the fact that my clients got caught in a 5K race that was being held there that day. I decided that I love this location. I had shot there before, but the NJ Botanical Gardens and Skylands Manor and the surrounding grounds are irresistable. There are always photographers there (this time, the Goshen Camera Club was there) - and I really can see why. Anyway, here is a little sampler from the session.

A little bit about Firefly................

Jean, of Bebe A'La Mode has featured me this week in an interview on her blog, so check it out, by clicking here!  I had a lot of fun talking to Jean and even getting a little introspective about my work! I am looking forward to reading more photogs' interviews with Jean - it's always nice to hear what other people's experiences are............and get inspired! Jean makes unique vintage-inspired photgraphy props and gorgeous wearable goodies for children.....so check out Bebe A'La Mode!

{Tomorrow, I will be celebrating my 2nd official Mother's Day with the love of my life - I hope you all have a great day as well!}
